Every business is different and so are CDS Bureau membership levels. We have five membership levels. Their information is given below:

| Level 1 | * | These business don’t gather sensitive information but are aware of security standards and procedures. |
| Level 2 | ** | These businesses or their sites don’t gather and store sensitive information. But they have a few preventive measures in place to handle situation that can arise from receiving sensitive information accidentally. Their site will not be a secured site and will not ask for submitting any personal or sensitive information. |
| Level 3 | *** | These businesses or their sites gather somewhat sensitive information like name, address, and credit card information. They have a few preventive measures to safeguard that information. Their site will be a secured site if it asks for submitting any personal or sensitive information. |
| Level 4 | **** | These businesses or their sites gather sensitive information date of birth but not social security number. They have a few preventive measures to safeguard that information. Their site will be a secured site regardless of them asking or not asking for secured information. These businesses will store sensitive information at their or third party premises that securely store the information. These businesses will transfer data securely and follow all government and CDS Bureau recommended guidelines. |
| Level 5 | ***** | These businesses or their sites gather sensitive information date of birth, social security number, bank accounts, medical history, trading account, tax information etc. Banks, doctors office, hospitals, trading companies, lawyers, and insurance companies come in this category. They have all preventive measures to safeguard the sensitive information. Their site will be a secured site regardless of them asking or not asking for secured information. These businesses will store sensitive information at their or third party premises that securely store the information. These businesses will dispose of any data securely. These businesses will transfer data securely and follow all government and CDS Bureau recommended guidelines. |
